Next Assignment: Red

Happy holidays to you all and thank you for your continued involvement in the Digital Photography Club. Our last meeting end up with a critique of almost 100 images that were submitted from our last assignment!

Our next assignment will be the color red. For this assignment, we are looking for creative photos utilizing the color red in some way as the subject. Be creative with this topic. There's plenty of red out there, especially during this particular holiday, so the pickings won't be slim. Most importantly, enjoy yourselves, and get those photos in our Flickr pool. Feel free to participate in our discussion topics as well.

New Assignment and Meeting

Due to the recent snow day, we decided that it would be a good idea to offer up a new assignment for the club members to take on, if they are bored of Christmas photos. The next assignment will be "Winter" and will be reviewed on Thursday December 20th along with our Christmas photos. Please contact either Mr. Caldwell or myself if you have any questions. Next Assignment: Christmas

Thanks to all who came for the last club meeting, and special thanks to Jill who brought the homemade apple pies. After much discussion, it seems that the general consensus is that the Digital Photography Club will be meeting each Thursday, unless otherwise announced. If there is a change in meeting days, we will communicate that via this website.

In other news, our assignment for our next meeting, which will be this coming Thursday December 13th is "Christmas". We would like to encourage you to think a little outside the box on this one and get some interesting images. Please post them to the Flickr site before our next meeting.

Next Meeting Announced

The digital photography club will be meeting Thursday December, 6th at 3:30pm in the computer lab. We will be taking time to go over this past week's assignment: Light Painting. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Please remember to submit your assignment photos to the flickr group prior to the meeting time. See you there!

The next Digital Photography Club assignment will be "Light Painting".
The photos should be taken between the dates of November 29th and our next meeting (which will be announced shortly). Please submit your photos to our flickr pool for review at the next meeting. We look forward to seeing you there! Happy Shooting!

Next Meeting Announced

The HCS Digital Photography Club will be having their next meeting on Thursday November 29th at 3:30pm in the computer lab. We will be reviewing our latest assignment: Water, as well as conducting a light painting activity (you might want to bring a flashlight or laser pointer for this activity). We look forward to seeing you then!

Update: We will still be conducting this meeting, despite the Tuesday meeting, however we will be critiquing and sharing our flickr photos.

Next Assignment: Water

Thank you to everyone who participated in our second meeting. It was neat to see everyone's "old" pictures. For our next assignment, we will be photographing "Water" in any of its forms. Please post your contributions to the assignment (no more than 5 photos please) on the hcs photography club flickr group page. If you do not have a flickr account, or are having problems with using flickr, please let Mr. Caldwell or Mr. Jurina know and we can help you out. Thanks again, and happy shooting!

Next Meeting Changed

Due to popular request, it appears that our next meeting has been rescheduled to Tuesday November 13th at 3:30pm.

New: HCS Photography Club Flickr Group

For those of you who aren't aware, the HCS Photography Club has a Flickr Group. Flickr is an online photo sharing site owned by Yahoo! where photographers can share photos and related discussions. To join Flickr, you will need to have a yahoo mail account (its easy to create one if you don't already have one). Once one is created, you can begin to upload your files to the site. At our next meeting we will demonstrate how the site works and get everyone who wants to participate joined in the group. If you have any questions or wish to join prior to our next meeting, then see Mr. Jurina at your convenience for more information.

Second Meeting Time

Thank you to all of the photography enthusiasts who showed up to our first meeting. We had a lot of fun with the scavenger hunt. We will be announcing the winners of the hunt at our next meeting on November 13th. The meeting will start at 3:30pm and go until 5pm. We will be viewing latest assignment photos in the lab and enjoying food and fellowship. For those of you who are coming, if you would be willing to bring a bag of chips, cookies, or whatever to share. Mr. Caldwell and myself will be supplying drinks. Thanks once again, and we look forward to seeing you. Note: if you were not able to make the first meeting, you are still more than welcome to join us.

First Assignment: Old

Our first assignment for the Digital Photography Club will be "Old". Your task will be to photograph an object, person, guesture, etc. that you feel represents the word "Old". We will spend our next meeting with food and fellowship while we view each others photos from the assignment. See you all there!
